Enter into Alice’s wonderful and bizarre fantasy world in Bray’s piece for solo violin, orchestra and the Bridge Project violinists. A song introduces the piece, telling us about the story before we fall down the rabbit-hole and into the mysterious world beneath. You can hear the graceful solo violin in the second part, ‘The Great Hall’, which represents Alice looking around and peering through the various doors.

The final part depicts the ‘Pool of Tears’ which Alice has made by crying when she was larger than life. Now she has shrunk again after drinking a potion and finds herself swimming in the pool. There she meets a mouse whom she talks to but about all the wrong things – cats and dogs – which obviously upsets the mouse rather a lot. The Bridge violinists represent the upset and agitated mouse, while Alice is portrayed by the solo violin.
