This piece sets part two of the poet Doris Kareva's collection "Shape of Time", which she describes as 'a message of hope through beauty'. In this work Jackson contrasts busy, vibrant string writing, which he uses to illustrate the striking images in Kareva's poem, with sustained vocal lines, resulting in a work that is both static and ecstatic.
